The Bayview Faith Festival mission is to bring faith communities together for a day of service, worship, praise, and celebration – all while connecting congregations and the broader Bayview/Hunter’s Point community to important health, financial, and educational resources for the whole family.

Taking place during Sunday Streets Bayview/Dogpatch, the 2019 Bayview Faith Festival will feature:

About Sunday Streets Bayview/Dogpatch

Sunday Streets Bayview/Dogpatch connects the lively 22nd Street in Dogpatch to The Bayview’s main corridor and beyond, with a car-free route spanning Third Street from 22nd Street to Carroll Avenue and creating a safe and spacious temporary park for the community to enjoy. Walk, bike or catch the T Line (the city’s first new light rail line in more than half a century) which will run throughout the day. Make the day yours with fun, free exhibits and activities and five Activity Hubs.

Discover Third Street’s small businesses with the Sunday Streets Explore Local Guide and new Common Cents Passport Program, available at the Sunday Streets information booth and participating stores, plus visit a Market Square featuring local vendors.

Sunday Streets works with community groups and local partners to create fun, friendly spaces for locals and to activate street corners and storefronts to engage visitors, showcasing spots like soul food restaurant Auntie April’s, arts center Bayview Opera House, and neighborhood favorite Sam Jordan’s Bar and Grill.

Getting there

We strongly encourage biking, walking, or taking public transportation to get to Sunday Streets when possible.

MUNI:  For trip planning and other Muni-related info, go to www.sfmta.com. Visit sfmta.com/alerts the week before the event for updated information on any MUNI lines that will be rerouted during the event.  Bikes are allowed on front racks of buses. The Bayview/Dogpatch Sunday Streets route is served by the following MUNI lines:

  • T Line operates along the entirety of the route between 22nd St and Donner Avenue
  • 19 from Polk to Evans Ave
  • 22, 48 to 20th and 3rd Street
  • 23, 24, 44, and 54 to Palou and 3rd Street

BART: Coming from the East Bay? Take BART to Embarcadero and transfer to Muni (T Line). Also you can go to the 16th St or 24th St BART Stations to connect with bus lines serving the Bayview/Dogpatch neighborhoods. For trip planning, go to www.bart.gov. BIKE: Get in the Livable City spirit and bike to Sunday Streets! Go to:  www.sfbike.org to download a bike map to help find a flat, bike-friendly route from your area or the nearest transit stop to Sunday Streets. Got a long way to go? Shorten the trip by taking transit part of the way. Muni buses have bike racks for 2 bikes, BART and Caltrain both allow bikes on board.

CALTRAIN: Coming from the South Bay? Take Caltrain to the station at 22nd St Station or to the Caltrain Depot at 4th and King Street. The Sunday Streets route is just a couple of blocks away from both stations. By Car: Should you chose to drive, be aware that the Sunday Streets route is towed of all vehicles beginning at 8am and no stopping or parking is allowed on the streets after that (even if you’re just stopping for a moment for a cup of coffee), and no vehicles are allowed to drive onto the route after 10:00am.

Detours and Parking Changes

TOWING: The Sunday Streets route is towed of all vehicles beginning at 8am. Including the following streets:

  • 3rd St. (southbound lanes only) between 22nd St. and Donner Ave.
  • 22nd St. between Indian and 3rd St.
  • Galvez Ave between Phelps and 3rd St.
  • Oakdale Ave. between Newhall and 3rd St.
  • Bancroft Ave. between Mendell and 3rd St.
  • Carroll Ave. west of 3rd St.

No parking or stopping will be allowed on these streets after 8am (even if you’re just stopping for a quick cup of coffee, your car may be towed).

DETOURS & LOCAL ACCESS: Streets begin closing to vehicle traffic starting at 10:00am, and will remain closed to vehicle traffic until 4:30pm.

  • Vehicle traffic will be allowed to cross 3rd St on 25th St., Cesar Chavez, Evans Ave, Jerrold Ave, Palou Ave, and Williams/Van Dyke Ave.
  • Southbound traffic rerouted from Third St between 22nd St and Donner Ave:
    • use Illinois St, take a left onto Cargo Way, use Mendell St, to Newcomb Ave, to Lane St.
